At the International Development Committee (IDC) session yesterday, Baroness Chapman was right when she said, “The world has changed.”Today, the world faces a serious climate and conflict crisis. More than 300 million people are in need of urgent humanitarian assistance. One in six children are growing up in conflict zones. The need for global solidarity, humanity and support for the world’s most vulnerable has never been greater.

The international community must act urgently to end the conflict which is driving the world’s largest humanitarian crisis in Sudan, and provide the funding needed to respond to the escalating humanitarian needs.

A new multimedia exhibition in Belfast organised by Concern Worldwide seeks to share the compelling stories of people displaced and directly impacted by the humanitarian crisis in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). 

As a humanitarian organisation, Concern believes the UK government has a role to play and must act to protect those experiencing extreme hunger, poverty, and displacement. 

Concern Worldwide reached 121,000 people in Ukraine last year with humanitarian assistance. In total the organisation assisted over 320,000 people there since the current phase of the conflict began in 2022. 

Humanitarian organisation Concern Worldwide has built new solar powered water systems in South Sudan, which are preventing the spread of cholera amid a major outbreak.
